Dive Into Confidence with YMCA Swim Lessons
At the YMCA, we believe everyone should feel safe and confident in the water, at every age and stage. Our comprehensive swim lesson program offers something for everyone, from babies splashing with their parents to adults learning to swim for the first time. Whether you’re at our Andover/North Andover or Lawrence branch, you’ll find expert instruction in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Our swim lessons are based on the newest swim lesson curriculum from the Y of the USA: Safety Around Water. Through this approach to swim lessons, kids of all ages can progress at their own pace, while building the confidence needed to become a successful swimmer.

FAQs
Can I sign my swimmer up for more than one month at a time?
Yes, you will still be able to sign up for more than one month at time, up to 3 months and we have kept the hassle free monthly draft on the 1st of each month!
Are parents/guardians required to be in the building during programming?
Yes.
Which levels are taught within each class?
All levels are taught within each class and children are grouped with others of a like ability. Swimmers are evaluated and grouped by level on the first day of classes.
Are there limits and ratios for classes and levels?
We have placed limits and ratios for all classes and levels to promote overall health, safety and quality guidelines.
What if my swimmer is feeling ill?
To promote overall safety and health for staff and swimmers if you or your swimmer are feeling ill or exhibiting signs and symptoms of illness, please refrain from attending programming at the YMCA. You may be asked to sit out a lesson/head home if you or your swimmer is exhibiting any signs of symptoms if illness.
What is your registration policy?
We operate on a rolling registration system in 3-month blocks. To ensure smooth scheduling and appropriate swimmer-to-instructor ratios, all swimmers must be registered no later than the day before the start of each month.
Registration will close on the last day of the month at 11:59 PM.
Please note: While our system may technically allow registrations after the 1st, late registrations are not guaranteed acceptance. This is because our staff needs time to finalize rosters and prepare for the upcoming session.
To secure your swimmer’s spot, please register before the deadline. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
