During this holiday season we wish to express our gratitude to our dedicated staff. On Friday, December 8th all Merrimack Valley YMCA branches will be closing at 5:30 PM so that our staff can participate in our holiday staff party. Thank you, Merrimack Valley YMCA
Are Administrative Office has moved! Our new address is 280 Merrimack Street, suite 500, Lawrence, MA 01843.
Our swim lessons are based on the newest swim lesson curriculum from the Y of the USA: Safety Around Water. Through this approach to swim lessons, kids of all ages can progress at their own pace, while building the confidence needed to become a successful swimmer.
In our preschool swim lessons, students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency. For those more familiar with the fundamentals, students will learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique.
Our qualified instructors will evaluate your child and place him or her in a group according to his or her developmental milestones. Please keep in mind, every swimmer is unique and will learn and grow at their own pace.
For more information on our swim levels, visit our program overview or swim lesson selector.
For Andover/North Andover Trimester Swim lessons – New to 2023
Trimester Swim lessons for the year go live on August 1st! We are rolling out a new format this year. The two biggest changes have to do with registration dates and a rolling 4-month schedule. We will only be releasing lessons in 4 month increments with staggered registration dates based on membership! Our Household and Family Members will be able to register for swim lessons 5 days ahead of our individual and non-members!
You will still be able to sign up for more than one month at time, up to 4 months and we have kept the hassle free monthly draft on the 1st of each month!
Parents/guardians are required to be in the building during programming.
All levels are taught within each class and children are grouped with others of a like ability. Swimmers are evaluated and grouped by level on the first day of classes.
We have placed limits and ratios for all classes and levels to promote overall health, safety and quality guidelines.
To promote overall safety and health for staff and swimmers if you or your swimmer are feeling ill or exhibiting signs and symptoms of illness, please refrain from attending programming at the YMCA. You may be asked to sit out a lesson/head home if you or your swimmer is exhibiting any signs of symptoms if illness.
For questions about our swim lessons or for more information contact: Aquatics Director, Mirela Fountain at mfountaine@mvymca.org.
