Accompanied by a parent or guardian, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences. Parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.
Our qualified instructors will evaluate your child and place him or her into the correct lesson based on his or her developmental milestones. For more information on our swim levels, visit our program overview or swim lesson selector.
Andover/North Andover lessons are Fast Track programs. For curriculum purposes, a two consecutive month minimum is required.
To keep with our small ratios and maintain the quality of the program, make-ups or transfers are not permitted.
Chairs/benches and bleachers will be arranged to best accommodate social distancing.
Parents/guardians are required to be in the building during programming.
All levels are taught within each class and children are grouped with others of a like ability. Swimmers are evaluated and grouped by level on the first day of classes.
We have placed limits and ratios for all classes and levels to promote overall health, safety and quality guidelines.
To promote overall safety and health for staff and swimmers if you or your swimmer are felling ill or exhibiting signs and symptoms of illness, please refrain form attending programming at the YMCA. You may be asked to sit out a lesson/head home if you or your swimmer is exhibiting any signs of symptoms if illness.
