Grant writing is the practice of applying for funding provided by an institution such as a government department, corporation, foundation or trust. Each year, hundreds of grant applications are submitted to help fund our mission to make healthier lives achievable for everyone. An important distinction is that grant funding requires a high level of results based reporting throughout the year.
Grants help us fund improvements to our facilities, as well as well as help fund our programs, from childcare to youth development programs to day camp or residential camps to child abuse prevention to academic support for at-risk children. Without the support of foundations and trusts, the Merrimack Valley YMCA simply would not be able to make the positive impact in the lives of our community members. We were able to secure over $500,000 in grants to support our cause.
A major factor in our success in securing funding is because of the relationships our volunteers and member have with these organizations. If you know of an organization, foundation or trust that may be interested in supporting our mission, please contact Beth Ann Schmitt at bschmitt@mvymca.org. Beth Ann will research the opportunity and determine if we are eligible, and if so, we will apply.
We thank the following organization for their extremely generous grant support this year.
