Thank You For Going The Extra Mile: Willie Hernandez

Willie has been a part of the Lawrence YMCA for about 4 years working for Enrichment, Sager Golf Academy, and basketball programs. He currently works at our Welcome Center and has gone above and beyond his job responsibilities. He not only welcomes new members, he assists with food insecurities and ensures that all who need food receive it, especially our child care families and members. He also looks after our teen participants and makes sure that their needs are met. Willie continually looks for ways to connect community partners with the YMCA and he always gives ideas to help us improve. Our members and staff love his fun energy that he brings every day and how he creates personal connections with all who walk in our doors. It would not be the Lawrence YMCA without Willie!
