Thank You For Going The Extra Mile: Ashwin Iyengar!

If you are looking for someone who always brings his A game, who takes initiative and owns his skill development, and who is always willing to go the extra mile to keep the pools open and programs running, look no further than Ashwin Iyengar. Ashwin is constantly looking for ways to immerse himself in the YMCA and Aquatics. He started as a lifeguard and teaches a variety of swim lessons from pre-school all the way to adult, drawing on his swim team experience to conduct high-quality, safe, and fun lessons. He also regularly asks for feedback on ways to improve his rescue skills and swim lessons and takes advantage of opportunities to challenge himself. Ashwin is always willing to help out by covering a shift or swapping hours with a co-worker. In fact, he would probably lead an Aqua Zumba class if asked, and he would probably nail it!

Ashwin describes the Y as his second home and it shows in all he does. He has grown quite a bit during his time here and has become integral member of our Aquatics family. Great Job!
