Diversity, Inclusion and Global Engagement (DIG) is a major component of our mission at the Y and we are proud to announce that one of our own will be helping to guide efforts to promote an inclusive culture for YMCAs across the country.

MVYMCA District Executive Director Claudia Soo Hoo has been asked to be part of the Y-USA Diversity, Inclusion and Global (DIG) Innovation Y Steering and Strategy Council.  Claudia is one of only 25 staff or volunteers from around the country who will work together to provide leadership and guidance to ensure the enduring success and impact of the Y-USA DIG strategy.

The DIG Innovation Network (formerly known as the Global Centers of Excellence) consists of YMCAs who have made an organizational commitment to integrate diversity, inclusion and global strategies across key operational and programmatic areas to strengthen their capacity to serve diverse and underserved populations, foster community cohesion and address social equity and inclusion issues.

As part of the national steering and strategy council, Claudia will monitor and respond to trends, work on capacity building for DIG Innovation Ys, assist in the coordination and integration of DIG Innovation strategy and support and enhance communication and visibility.
