Andover North Andover YMCA Swim Teams
One more congratulations to our Andover/North Andover YMCA's Masters Swim Team from YMCA Nationals in April
The Andover/North Andover YMCA Masters were 11th in the team combined category of 55+ scoring teams from across the continental U.S.
ANA Masters were lead by 75-year-old Laverne Adams who was perfect with eight gold medals in backstroke, individual medleys and distance free. She was the meet high point scorer!
Although the meet high point scorer does not get a physical award the Master's coaches are going to get her a personal trophy and present it at a practice.
Dave Stiles won three events and Jim Christopher won the 100 free. Carol Yunker, Michele Roy-Battistini and Michele Fox and had several top 5 finishes
Other significant point scorers were Marc Keil, Dave Welch, Marcia Misiorski and Coach Rick Battistini.
Eight of our Relays also scored points.

Andover/North Andover YMCA Hurricanes Competitive Swim Teams
The Andover/North Andover YMCA Hurricanes Swim Team draws swimmers ages 6 through high school from throughout the Merrimack Valley. The team competes in Division I of the Eastern Massachusetts YMCA District as well as in U.S. Swimming. The program serves swimmers from the pre-team level to those competing at the YMCA National level.
Central themes in the YMCA sport philosophy are: Teaching fundamental skills, encouraging lifetime involvement in physical activity, strengthening self-respect and respect for others and engendering the thrill and challenge of competition. Andover/North Andover YMCA Synchers Synchronized Swim Team
The Andover/North Andover YMCA Synchers' program offers three progressive youth levels to teach and challenge all swimmers, from novice to masters levels. In the 2010 season, our team had a roster of approximately 80 swimmers, ages 6 to 19. We also have another several members involved in our masters (adult) program.
